Michael D. Waldrup is an experienced trial lawyer and has practiced extensively in the area of Criminal Law as both a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and Private Defense Counsel. Mr. Waldrup graduated from the University of Idaho Law School in 1998 where he served on the Trial Team. Later he gained early trial experience as a licensed legal intern where he was lead counsel in misdemeanor criminal defense trials. He then served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney where he received numerous trail advocacy training at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
After working as a Deputy Prosecutor, Mr. Waldrup practiced federal law where he gained considerable experience in negotiations with state and federal agencies such as Idaho Fish and Game, US Fish and Wildlife, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the EPA.
He started his own practice in 2004 where he brings those negotiating skills to the courtroom. He has had extensive experience with DUI trials and major felonies including aggravated assault, felony drug offenses and attempted murder.
Michael Waldrup currently defends every type of criminal case and also practices in the area of family law. Focusing on only two areas of the law allows him to truly devote his time to each client and their case.
He is a member of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (IACDL) and the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA).
